Cadillac : DeVille CONVERTIBLE 1956 Cadillac Deville Convertible=same owner since 1959 Picture(s) and Description:

I own a auto buisness in Milwaukee.I know very little about classic cars.We sell late model Mercedes,BMWS, PORSCHES,Ferraris,Bentleys and other pre-owned luxury cars.About 1 month ago a friend of mine called me and told me about a man in his mid 80s that was selling his home and needed to get rid of his pride and joy,his 1956 deville convertible.I went and met the man and looked at his car.The man said he had bought the car from the original owner in the late 1950s.He thought 1958 or 1959.He owned it for over 50 years!!!He stopped driving it 10-15 years ago.It had sat in his garage since then.My lack of old car wisdom sent me to the internet to try to come up with a value.I still don't really have a idea so I thought the best thing was to buy the car and get it running and look at it on a lift.I then thought the best thing I could do was put it on E-Bay and give the best discription I could after I got the reports back from the people I had go over it.So here goes:Miles read 6,119 according to previous owner he thinks that it is 106,000 actual miles but I cannot be 100% sure. The car came to us with some new bumper and exhaust parts and we had them installed. The shop had to rebuild the carb. and they changed gas and other fluids and got the car running and I drove it and it seems to run well.It also needed some brake work and we had the shop do that also. The convertible top is in really good shape and does not need to be replaced. The top pump will need some work because it needs a little help going up and down. Here what greatly impressed me and the shop who has done the work for us on the car.The appears to show no rust underneath the car when it was up in the air.The frame is solid. The body looks great and and seems almost rust free.It is really in great shape. All the chrome is there exempt 3 small 1/2 rings 0n the lower pass.rear quarter.I am told that they are easy attainable. Most of the chrome on the car will need to be rechromed but the big thing is that it is all there. You will need to paint the car but again keep in mind that the body seems really straight and is not rusty. The interior is in good shape but it will need to be redone if you are restoring this car.The dash shows no weathering and looks great. The engine compartment looks really good and orignal.IT has the double snorkel air cleaner and the inner fenders look very solid.Keep in mind this car is a restoration project but it is a real solid original car that I feel is a once in a lifetime value because of how rock solid it is.It also has a power seat and power windows. Please keep in mind I am not a expert in old cars and I would prefer that you fly in to view it.I have over 100% feedback on over 360 E-Bay transactions. This feedback is very rare for a auto dealer. The reason is we always tell the truth.Call me personally with any questions.I have a 60 car indoor showroom and the car is only about 50 feet from me so I can run over to it and attempt to answer your questions. My number is 414-531-2222 and my name is Harry Kaufmann. International buyers welcome,we can arange transport to any port in the U.S. U.S. buyers we can arrange transport to your front door.Thank you for spending your time to view my car,Harry
