Chevrolet : Impala Super Sport 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport 327 4spd SS NO RESERVE Picture(s) and Description:

This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! This car WILL SELL to the highest bidder!!! Up for auction is this beautiful 1964 Impala SS hardtop. This is a very solid southern car that has lived it's entire life in middle South Carolina. I purchased the car about a year ago and brought it to Atlanta, GA. I have spent a lot of time and money making the car a dependable weekend cruiser and have taken it to many cruise-ins and car shows including a 500 mile round trip to Pigeon Forge Rod Runs last fall and have cruised it around the Daytona Beach, FL annual Turkey Rod Runs. I have had many admirers and positive comments on the car just cruising it around has created quite a lot of interest. Although this is not a show car, it is an excellent driver quality car that is durable and can carry the whole family on a Sunday cruise comfortably. Take a look at the photo bucket link below for more detailed pictures and videos of the car: http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt297/jtmkustoms/64%20Impala%20SS/ Drivetrain: This is a true factory Super Sport car which has a mildly built 327 and a four speed transmission. The motor runs smoothly and does not smoke, tick or knock and has plenty of power. I have upgraded the 327 with an Edelbrock aluminum 4 barrel intake manifold and Edelbrock carburetor, a new HEI distributor, and a Chevrolet chrome 1 wire alternator. I have recently installed an new Competition Cams "Thumper" cam and lifters, roller rockers, and double roller timing chain. The recently installed cam has a real "lopey" idle and that gives the car a distinct deep rich sound. The car originally came with a 3 speed on the column transmission, but this has been upgraded to a new rebuilt GM 4 speed transmission with the correct Impala SS center console. I have just installed a new Hurst 4 speed shifter and linkage, which has really made shifting gears smooth and easy. The engine runs excellent and the transmission shifts smoothly. It also has an all new exhaust system consisting of 2 chamber FloMaster mufflers with the exhaust exiting via the quarter panel. The rear end in the car is original and does not make any detectable whining or grinding noise. I have just rebuilt the rear drum brakes and adjusted the front drum brakes. The car stops very well, but like most of the older cars, this car would benefit greatly from a disc brake conversion. The car also has manual steering, but steers smoothly (my wife has no problems driving). List of New Parts Recently Installed: Upper and Lower Ball Joints Upper and Lower Control Arm Bushings All New Brakes (front and rear) All New Shocks (front and rear) Rebuilt 4 Speed Transmission & Clutch New Hurst Competition Shifter Edelbrock Aluminum Intake & Carburetor New HEI Distributor & Wires New Comp "Thumper" Cam New Comp Lifters & Summit Roller Rockers New Summit Double Roller Timing Chain New Transmission Mounts & Motor Mounts New Autometer 3 gauge cluster & Old Skool Sun Pro Tachometer Fuel Tank Sending Unit New 2 1/2" Exhaust with Flowmaster 2 Chamber Mufflers All New Mouldings and Emblems 20" Wheels & New 14" Tires Body: This car spent most of it's life in South Carolina and the temperate weather has been kind to this car. The factory color on this car was Cortez silver, but the previous owner had it color changed to the current blue pearl color that you see. The current paint is a base coat/clear coat and is a decent driver quality paint job, but does have some flaws and imperfections in the paint. The frame, cowl, inner and outer rockers, deck lid, trunk pan, trunk weather strip lip, doors, roof, core support, front fenders are all extremely solid and rust free. Although there are a few through pinholes of rust in the front floor pans, the floor pans are very solid and original to the car. The hood does have a dime sized rust hole in the outer skin (see pic) and a few areas bubbling up on the leading edge, but these are easily repaired. There is no rust around the front and back glass and the sail panels in the car are very solid. The car also has a like-new set of fender skirts. This car still retains all of the factory glass, it is all in good condition, but the windshield does have some scratches from someone running worn out wiper blades. Also, the frame and all of the suspension components are very straight and free of rust. Trim: I have replaced all of the emblems with new ones. I have replaced all of the rear deck lid molding and quarter panel molding with new. I have installed new machine-turned SS trim inserts in all of the side moldings. The front grill is repainted and I have installed a new upper grill molding, hood molding, and deck lid molding. All of the rest of the factory molding is intact and in good condition. Interior: The front bucket seats and the factory rear seat have recently been recovered with the correct black vinyl material. It also has a new carpet and headliner and recovered door panels and rear trim panels. All of the factory SS badges are intact and all of the SS dash trim is present. All the factory original gauges are intact in the car. The car still retains the factory GM radio (nonworking) and the dash has not been altered or cut in any way. There is a new glove box liner installed. The car has an under the dash Sony CD player, 2 Kenwood 6x9's in the rear package tray, and 2 MTX 10" sub woofers in a custom built enclosure in the trunk with a Kenwood amp powering the subs. The trunk has also been custom lined and detailed with black carpeting. I have installed a new set of lap belts in the rear seat for the kids' safety. The car is very comfortable and makes a great family cruiser and there's plenty of room in the trunk for the lawn chairs and the cooler. Wheels and Tires: This car does not include the chrome 20's shown in the pictures but will be offered to the winning bidder for an additional $900. The car will come with a set of the the factory original 14" steel wheels and SS hubcaps mounted on brand new 215/75/14 narrow whitewall tires. Also included in this auction are the factory original fender skirts. Title: I have a clear Georgia title and registration. The car is currently insured through Haggerty Classic Car insurance and would be an easy transition for anyone wishing to start a classic car policy through Haggerty upon purchase. Our family has enjoyed wonderful times with this car. From drives through the mountains and up and down the interstate, to cruising into the local car shows we have enjoyed all of the "thumbs ups" and nostalgic smiles we get from young and old. This has been a truly head turning ride and we hope that you will enjoy the cruises as much as we have. Happy Bidding and Good Luck!?
