Chevrolet : Malibu NO RESERVE Optional 305 Camaro V8 – AC – Original doc’s – Nice car Picture(s) and Description:

These Malibu's are un-sung hereo's in my opinion. Muscle in the late 1970's was almost non-existant with the tighter emission standards of the day. Even Corvette's and Trans-Am's were slugs. The Malibu Classics were light and normally came powered by the guttless V-6. But some, like this one, had the tried and true optional small block 305 cubic inch V-8, the same engine available in the Camaro. Although, not the 327 of 10 years before, the 305 moves this car very well. Power to weight ratio is good and merging onto the freeway is effortless. I acquired this car over 2 years from a close friend. It was never my intention to keep her but she's still sitting in my garage. It is certainly the odd duck in my collection of primarily cars from the late 60's and early 70's. I take the car out every few months just because it runs and drives so nice but she mostly just sits ignored and I could use the space. This car was special ordered in November of 1977 from Murray Chevrolet (still in business) in Gresham Oregon and delivered to the owner in January of 1978. The trade-in was a 1972 Malibu Coupe. I have all of the original documentation including the special purchase order, factory build-sheet, manuals, etc. The car stayed with the original family until my friend purchased it in 2006. She was ordered with the 305-V8, air conditioning, tilt steering column, defogger, tinted glass, delay wipers and split bench seat with armrest. The factory floor mats are even still in-place. Being in Oregon since new has kept the car solid and in nice condition. She was repainted about 10 years ago in her original color of silver. A decent, mid-range job was performed at that time but certainly not to perfect standards. Minor blemishes can be found on close inspection but the paint holds a nice shine and the car presents well. The undercarriage and trunk are in mint condition. The factory redish primer can still be seen on the undersides. The chrome bumpers, glass and trim are in excellent condition. There aren't a lot of these cars around anymore and this is by far, one of the nicer examples. The interior is in excellent shape. The fabric on the seats is bright and intact. Only slight wear showing on the edge of the drivers seat where the seatbelt rests. The carpet, door panels, headliner, etc, are in wonderful condition. The dash is also excellent with only 1 sun-crack in the center. All lights, switches, gauges, heater, wipers, radio, and horn are functioning perfectly. The A/C is 100% complete. The compressor spins freely but a belt and coolant charge will be needed. I installed a CD player under the dash so that the original radio location would not be harmed. This is easily removed if you prefer an all stock appearance. Mechanically, the car is a sweetheart. The 305 starts immediately and runs perfect. The transmission was gone through and has low miles since the rebuild. The mileage on the car is approx 130,000. The speedometer reads mph accurately but the miles are not turning. This glitch occured not long ago. The car has been well maintained and received service when necessary, mostly at the GM dealer. The steering and brakes are sound and she drives beautifully. The polished wheels and tires are still almost new. I also added a dual exhaust to the car. This was done with a single in-let Flowmaster muffler with a dual out-let. The car has a nice and mellow tone on acceleration. This is one of those cars that can be driven absolutely anywhere. The photos will finish up the description. I'm happy to show the car in person during the auction to anyone with genuine interest. Our home is very near the Portland Oregon Airport and I would gladly pick you up. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link in the auction and I will respond to all polite messages. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 9AM and 8PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 23rd of February at 7PM Pacific. I do reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the car becomes no longer available. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. Communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my little Malibu. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. It's a nice car that deserves an appreciative home. I took every picture you're about to see with my handheld Canon digital camera. This is what she looks like. Thanks for your time, DAVE Terms of Sale: 32yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my car honestly, to the best of my ability based on lifetime passion and 25 years of owning and driving classic cars. I have 100% faith in the drivability of this car and to my knowledge, everything is in excellent working order. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive this car anywhere but she is 32 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the car for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending, preferably through PayPal, just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form or other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can help make arrangements or provide recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. Dennis is a great guy and his direct number is 503-343-4884. He is based here in Oregon and has handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 3 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97267. Coast-to-Coast enclosed transport is around $1500.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange and I have handled this kind of transport many times. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
