baddog motors Awesome cars at a great price! 1978 DatsunNissan 280z Good Interior and Engine CLASSIC Car! Click Images To Enlarge Vehicle Information: Vin: HLS30458738 Mileage: 102,000 Transmission: 5 Speed Manual Engine: Fuel Injected InLine 6 No Reserve so this great collectors car will sell to the highest bidder! This 280z needs a new home and can be restored to be a great car! All the pieces are there. I purchased this car to restore from a lady in Florida, and now I am going to be purchasing an older house that will need restoring and I just will not have time to restore both! The good This cars engine runs, I think the air flow meter or temp sensor is bad or intermittent in function so it runs rough, but the car is driveable. The girl I purchased it from had alot of work done to the motor and I did some. Has new NGK plugs and wires, egr valve, distributor and rotor, alternator, hoses and fuel lines. New Injectors. New exhaust and ignition gaskets installed. The engine is really solid overall. I would not rebuild it as it seems very strong. Just needs to be cleaned up. This is the only 280z year that had fuel injection and not carburetors. The brakes and 5 speed manual transmission shift and work. The steering and front end are stiff and probably need a complete workover. However, if you are going to redo this car anyways you would also do that anyways. Two new gabriel struts are included. Interior of this car is in what I would consider very good shape. Dash has classic cracks around gauges, but glovebox and vents are in good shape, fusebox cover included jsut wasnt in the picture. All gauges, speedo, tach etc work except for the temperature gauge. (I am wondering if the temp sensor is bad which may be part of the reason the engine runs a little rough. I know this is a common z problem.) There is an aftermarket temp gauge that works but the factory one does not. The drivers seat is in perfect shape, passenger has some holes but ok. The steering wheel is a nice aftermarket one and the shifter is real wood. The console is custom made by custom consoles in Georgia and is basically brand new. All of the trim panels are there and are in good shape, including the ones in the back hatch area. Door skins are basically new. The windows and locks work as well. All glass is in good shape. The wipers work but appear weak, blinkers work and headlights and high beams work. The key ignition was bad and so the key didnt start the car, so I have ordered a brand new ignition. I will not install it, but I will include this with the car. It comes with two new ignition keys, so you will have two sets of doorhatch keys and two ignition keys. Currently you can just take a screwdriver and turn the ignition electric sensor and start the car. All of the drivers panels are there, you can see them in the passenger floorboard. I just had them removed because I was working on the ignition. Carpet is fairly decent and looks to be pretty new no holes or anything. The back carpet is bad. Spare is missing, but original jack and all parts are there. The headliner is brand new and looks great. The interior of this car is good and very useable. Decent JVC mp3cd player. The Bad The exterior of this car looks pretty good overall. The orange paint is decent and a good color. You could just drive this thing around and it already would look decent. The bridgestone tires and wheels are nice as well. There is a good amount of rust on this vehicle and it will need to be repaired. The fenders are decent and probably can be salvaged as they just have surface rust and small holes. The passenger side headlight had one small rust through hole but can be repaired. Hood has a few rust bubbles, and will need some minor rust repair but definately useable. The inner engine area and wiper area are actually in good shape. The doors are decent but the rockers have rust forming. The rear quarters have the typical rust developing. The fuel door area is in good shape with no rust which is pretty rare I think. The rear of the car on drivers side bumper area there is significant rust damage to that panel. You can see it in the pictures. It appears to be damage from a smash or something but it is not, it is just rust through of the area around the bumper bracket and exhaust pipe. The bracket and bumper are solid but this back fender piece is rusted. The floor pan on the passenger side is very rusty all the way through in a few places. It will need to be replaced. The passenger frame rail is also very bad. The drivers side floorpan looks pretty good and jsut some minor rust around where the drain holes are. The drivers side frame rail is alot better as well. both need to be reinforced or replaced. Overall, I think if you can do the body repair, the interior and engine are ready for you to use and can almost be used as is. The main issues with this vehicle are the rust areas I have outlined. I believe in ebay, and almost just for fun I am starting this vehicle at 125 dollars. I love z cars and I think this can be a good one once it has some work done. I have included as many pictures as I possibly can, and described this vehicle as accurately as I know how. This listing has more pictures and a better description than any other z on ebay.
