Ford : Model A 11/2 Ton Hyd 1931 Ford AA Rare 32B Budd Body Garwood Hyd Dump Truck Picture(s) and Description:

This is a late model 1931AA with a All Steel 32B BUDD CAB and a Garwood Dump Body #12780 Model C12 Two Cubic Yard Heavy Duty Hydraulic Dump .The fire wall is late indented and had been painted black as was the hood on the inside. I was told that it may have been a Plumas County Public WorksTruck when new.The trans is an original Four Speed, Warner T8-1 with a Munice Power Take off with cab controls. The trans and powertake-off work great and do not jump out of gear or whine. The Dump Bed is original and solid and operates great. The clutch is AA oversize and does not chatter or slip. The Engine is not the original one.The current had been rebuilt and installed prior to my ownership and has great compression (65 to 70 psi on all cylinders) and no leaks, starts easily and does not have oil smoke or blow-by. I have adjusted the valves an installed a rebuilt Zenith carb, a rebuilt generator new fan belt,a rebuilt starter and drive,a new water pump, all water hoses and clamps, plugs, points, condenser, rotor and cap.The original crank and Budd wheel Wrench were under the seat and are included. The manual turn signal is still installed but the arm was not present. The cab has a manual load counter on the top of the passenger side where the driver would have pushed the washers over a hump from left to right. I installed a new muffler and correct tail pipe and completly tuned the engine and serviced the engine trans, rear end.I have rebuilt the front axel and installed new king pins and carrier bearings. The AA front axel has a new aftermarket steering dampner installed. The drag link was kitted and the steering box has no bindup and works well. The front brakes are new bonded brakes. The Budd wheels have new Firestone 650x20 tires ,tubes and flaps. The rear end is a late 5.14 ratio with original 7-36 tag with 53.6 MPH at 3000 RPM gearing. It is strong and tight as is the drive shaft. The 13 leaf rear springs are AA-5560E and in good order.I installed new bonded brake shoes and new hand riveted emergency brake bands. The outboard Firestone 650x20 tires ,tubes and flap are new and the duals have a rare one inch wheel spacer and Budd Bolts that would allow chains or 750 x20 Tires for more speed gearing. The electrical system has been rewired to engine, dash, horn ,headlights ( old Arrow sealed beam conversions) and dual taillights are new.The battery is 6 volt positive ground and has a cab "power disconnect".The interior light and electrical wiper motor are un-hooked and operation is unknown. The speedometer is not operating but original cable is hooked up. The front radiator shell and radiator are not original as they are not AA.The front bumper blade and mount are the late BB bumper that was also used through 1932.The last plate registration date was 1953.I can provide a Cal DMV bill of sale and power of attorney, the original frame number recovery requires body removal to get to factory serial .# but DMV number is stamped as b7075 on the engine block. The Budd wheels are late reinforced style dated 9/31.This truck was operated last in a private saw mill in Plumas County,Ca. to haul saw dust and kerf when I purchased it five years ago.The original windshield has a full crack on passenger side but opens and closes. The cab windows crank up and down but the drivers window and back window had been put in some time ago as plexiglass. The doors are straight and shut well and the subframe is solid. The revel rust on both cowls came from the inside out.The rear of the cab is missing the wood frame blocks and has rust The original floor of the cab is solid except for a punched drain hole. The truck has both fenders that were leaded and gas weld stitched with a reinforcing plate to drivers running board. The fenders and running boards will have to be replaced if restored. The roof has no dents and is straight. The green paint is worn to red lead primer and surface rust and the general overall condition is sound. I have used this truck for five years for parades and on my ranch for firewood transporting.I have always oiled the body with Liquid Gold Almond oil to preserve and protect the great patina and it gets many photographs taken and many thumbs up... I have 42 years of owning and driving AA's and still have my first one, my wife says you don't need two AA Dumps!!! This truck needs to go to a experienced A driver for use as-is or possible restoration and business write -off.I have seen a restored Dump bring twenty -five thousand.I have set a low reserve price and hope the buyer can understand it is less than the money I have invested.Good Luck!!! I will require a one-thousand deposit within 48 hours of auction closing and full payment by a cashiers check within 7 days of the auction closing. I will store and load for buyer. This truck fits on a standard car trailer.
