This award winning Special Delivery is one of only 900 made in 1931, the sole year of production. It is a late model with indented firewall and is fully sorted out. Everything works including the clock! The wood is PERFECT!!!! This woodie can sit for a month, turn on the gas, turn the key, pull the choke, hit the starter and it's running. Brumfeld High Compression Head allows freeway cruising of 55-60 mph utilizing Mitchell Overdrive & synchro transmission with 15% higher gears. This woodie looks flawless and the fenders were resprayed two years ago black with clearcoat. The engine is bored .60 over with counter balanced crankshaft. 12 volt alternator & electronic ignition. Correct '31 side-bowl carburetor, H & H lightened flywheel with V-8 clutch and Aries low restriction muffler. About a thousand miles ago a lifter-like noise developed high between cylinders 1 & 2. Readjusted the valves and the noise remained. Pulled the head and pan...cylinders smooth, rod bearings good. "Guru's" said put it back together and drive it which I've done for the last thousand miles. Engine seems happy. Oil pressure normal when hot and engine does not smoke. There are twenty thousand miles on this rebuilt engine. Does not leak water and has never overheated. Like all early Fords it seeps oil from the rear main seal. New cast iron drums stop straight and well. Monroe gas shocks. Powdercoated 1935 Ford 16" wire wheels with Goodyear Wrangler radials. A surfboard goes with it sitting on it's custom bamboo rack. Sold "As-Is, Where Is." Non-refundable deposit of $1,000 due within 2 days of auction end and the balance of funds must clear before woodie is released. I will work with your transport company if you wish your woodie shipped.
