Ford : Model A Spcl Coupe 28 Ford Model A Rat Rod Hot Rod Classic Vintage Picture(s) and Description:

1928 Ford Model A Special Coupe ~ Cool Rat Rod ~ Unfinished Hot Rod From the ground up, this car was built to be my personal hot rod. A custom frame was built to last with 2x4 inch steel rails and 2x3 inch steel supports. All welds were performed by a certified welder. All bungs are welded in for accessories. Honestly, this is one of the nicest frames that I have ever seen, especially for a rod. Absolutely no corners were cut. Up front, this car is no tireburner, but its no slouch either. The 4.3 Chevy V-6 gives it some power, but with good gas mileage. It's not a trailer queen, but a driver to take to the car shows. The car runs about 2800 rpms @ 55mph. It drives straight like a car, not darty like some other rods. We couldn't decide whether to keep it as a rat rod, or put some lipstick on it and make it a hot rod. Either way, it had to be comfortable and safe. The bucket seats have been moved back to allow for the most leg room possible. The steering wheel and removable coupler allow for a comfortable reach, as well as ease of getting in and out of the car. Nice gauges gave us the choice of adding the lipstick or just throwing on the do-rag (for the wife, of course). Here's what you wanna know: 4.3 Chevy motor w/ small cam and aluminum pullies Holley 4 barrel intake & carb Headers with 2 1/2 inch exhaust KRC radiator ~ good up to 600hp Cyclone fan with custom fan shroud Turbo 350 trans NEW Lokar Shifter KRC trans cooler on the frame rail Mustang II front end with Speedway strut rods NEW front brakes, rotors, calipers, pads, & lines NEW ball joints & bearings NEW shocks Rear 3 link suspension with wish bone upper link Bilstein coil overs on rear NEW Vet master cylinder & power brakes S-10 rear end with NEW disc brakes Optima battery Longacre steering wheel with Sweet *removable* steering coupler NEW Aluminum 15 gallon gas tank NEW floor boards & trunk floor NEW side skirts NEW firewall NEW wiring end to end & all soldered together LED taillights Dolphin gauges ~ All work correctly (you can't use these as an excuse to get out of a speeding ticket, unless you plead ignorance...or a donut) Centerline wheels ~ 10 inch in rear and 4 inch in front Nice bucket seats Headlights have been converted to halogen with LED parklights & turn signals You will see from the pictures that the body does have some rust, but I replaced all the really bad parts. The rest seems to be fixable. Because we drove it this summer, we didn't bother with windows (missing in the doors, the rear, and left back window) or a roof. Instead of using the 2-55 air conditioning this summer, we upgraded to the 5-55 (out of a possible 6-55). Best of all, we have a CLEAR TITLE IN HAND for this ride. This is a real nice rat rod, or can be converted to a super nice hot rod with some body work, paint, and upholstery. We hope to find a nice home for this ride. Is it yours? Other info you should know: Cash is preferred (we all love green), but a cashier's check must clear the bank before the ride leaves our garage. Potential buyers may be able to view the car in person or maybe even take a test drive. Contact me to schedule a time to meet. Please don't bid if you don't have intention of buying. If you have less than 10 active bids, I would appreciate it greatly if you would call me or email me before you bid. Car is also for sale locally, therefore auction may end early.
