Land Rover : Discovery SE Series II SE heated seats brush guard FREE DELIVERY Picture(s) and Description:

Land

Just so there is no mystery, there is REASONABLE reserve on this Land Rover!! In the past I have not used reserves but recently, things have been ending at silly low prices and I am not in the business to give cars away. The reserve is well below the Buy It Now and also below book value. Folks know our Rovers are nice trucks so they go good. If this one sells before the end of the sale, and it likely will, I will have others soon, incuding a full safari Zebra edition. To begin, there is a BUY IT NOW price on this Rover that may or may not appear on the main screen. The price will be good for the entire sale up until the last 12 hours, after which eBay will not allow me to end the auction. To be fair, you should know that ALMOST ALL of my Rovers sell with the BUY IT NOW option so don't wait until the last minute to bid as it may not be available by then. The BUY IT NOW on this Rover is $8,995.00 and that INCLUDES free delivery to anywhere in the continental USA. I willl also discount that price by $800.00 if you want to come and pick it up. Sorry but I cannot include Alaska and Hawaii in free delivery. I may be able to include some parts of lower Canada. Please see details below on delivery. If you want to use the BUY IT NOW feature, all you have to do is contact me (call 270-577-1821) and we can work it out and I will end the auction with you on top. Please understand that the free delivery is ONLY with the Buy It Now option. If you make an offer of less, and I accept it, you will not qualify for the delivery unless we have agreed to it in advance of the end of the sale. I want to restate that about 90% of the Rovers I list sell before the end of the auction. If you want it, call me. Don't be upset if you try to wait it out and it's gone! Now let's get to the details on the Rover. Let me begin by telling you a little about what we do then maybe you'll have a better idea of what this Rover is. First, we are a Rover rescue and restoration group. We locate and try to save vintage and modern Land Rovers. We are NOT a salavge operation that parts Rovers out. There are plenty of those folks out there already. We have a long standing love and respect for the history of Rover and try to do what we can to preserve them. Granted, not all can be saved but under normal circumstances, we only send ones that are badly damaged by wrecks to salvage. We NEVER salvage any other. Period. We are not a get-rich-quick group. We started as a group of retired Rover owners who hated to see Rovers in good physical condition being sent to the graveyard, and we had nothing better to do!. We decided that we had some extra money, one of us had some property, all of us had some mechanical skills so a plan was hatched. We would try to locate every single parked, abandoned, abused or neglilected Rover and put it away until we can afford to put in back in good shape. Granted, sometimes we have bitten off more than we could handle but we keep going. We DO NOT make profits to put in our pockets. The profits that may come from the sale of a restored Rover is used to buy other Rovers in need of help, to buy parts or to further the good of the flock. We are not rich. We are not poor. This is a cause that we all enjoy working on and we will continue towards our goal. We are always interested in ANY LAND ROVER that you want to sell. We do not buy perfect Rovers at retail prices. Those are not in need of protecting and you can sell them to normal buyers without a problem. If you have any Rovers that fit the bill, or know someone that does, please let us know or give them our number. While we cannot promise that we will buy them, we always keep a record of Rovers so that we can help put buyers and sellers together FREE OF CHARGE. Please understand that we are not a broker for dealers. We will not act as a free service for dealerships just trying to get top dollar out of their Rovers. We WILL work with dealerships that have Rovers that they need to part with that may need help or they may not be the type of vehicle that they wnat to deal with. A special note: Not all of our Rovers were ones that were in need of repair. Sometimes, we find unique Rovers that were offered at fair prices and we add them to the collection. This is one of those. Now we did do the safari work on it to make it more appealing but it was a nice Rover to start with. We dressed it up some to give it some WOW! but that is explained more below. This is a 2003 Land Rover Discovery Series 2 with a partial safari package. The exterior of this beauty is actually better than it appears in the photos. It is a brilliant white with excellent paint and body. The paint and body are nearly perfect. We NEVER do anything that will damage a Rover. Only add-ons that can be bolted on and off and easily removed are used to try to keep the Rovers as close to original as possible. It is obvious that we like to dress them up some but again, anything we do can be undone with almost no effort. The body on this one is nice and has no issues. The paint is good and nice and bright. I always have the trucks detailed prior to putting them on eBay on so that the paint is in good shape and looks it's best. This little safari-ready Rover looks incredible in person. It has the added brush guard, which is a genuine Rover item that cost $1600.00 new. There is a full-sized contoured safari roof rack on top, a ladder on the rear and running boards on each side. The rack is a Wilderness brand and a damned nice one at that. The rack alone is $1200.00, then the brush guard at about $700.00, plus the $500.00 running boards and the $150.00 ladder. We also have to add in the lights on the front, which are 100 watt off-road at $150.00 and the lights on the rack at another $100.00. This does not include all of the other things, listed below, that has been done to get it looking good and in great mechanical shape. And before I forget, please notice that it also has the factory Rover hydrolic rear step below the bumper. This is a HARD item to find and worth another $200.00. The Rover is fully detailed with no dents or damage at all. The Rover looks great in person. We like the brightly colored "jerry cans" mounted on the rack which gives it even more safari appeal. If they are not to your fancy, they can easily be taken off. They just make it stand out even more. We have even added numerous safari adventure stickers to the back glass to give it even more of an authentic adventure look and feel. This Discovery does have the one piece aluminum Rover wheels with correct center caps, the rear mounted spare tire and logo tire cover and factory roof rack is also included, if you want it. We had to unscrew it to put the rack on but it just screws back on. This Rover is totally ready for your next safari (or your drive to the office). Now let me take a moment and tell you that if you are wanting a vehicle that does not stand out and draw attention to you, THIS IS NOT IT! The Zebra Rovers draw crowds no matter where they go. The grocery, the mall, the highway or just driving around town. People LOVE them! The first time I did one and took it out, I was amazed at how many people came up and asked about it. Folks just stop you and want to buy it or want to know where to get one. If you are a true Rover lover, you will know that this design is one that Rover used years ago in Africa and Austrailia. You find many old Matchbox type toy cars done in the Zebra style. I will tell you here that this one is well-done. The vinyl stripes are 7 year quality and are made not to peel, fade or crack. It is glass black Oracal brand vinyl, 7mm thickness. You should have no issues with the stripes for a long, long assuming you take care of it. I will also include some extra vinyl so you can make repairs should you get any cuts or nicks in the current stripes. On to the interior. This one has the original style tan cloth interior that is very nice! The dash is great with no wear, cracks or fade. The front edge of the dash had pulled back from the glass a little due to sun heat but it is only noticeable when you look for it. We have reheated it and put it back to a better position. It's minor but I want to mention everything I know about. The face of the dash is in great shape with no damage. It has an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player installed and that was already there when we got it. The SUV has the correct style bucket seats with the unusual and hard to find Rover headrests. The tan carpet is original style and is in good shape. Some of the photos may show the carpet to appear faded but that is not the case. It is just the camera flash glaring. The carpet is in good condition and clean. The doors panel have the correct hard plastic pockets on them and these are not broken like so many of them are. The truck has a full gauge package and all work perfectly. All of the interior items work as they should. All power windows, door locks, vents, AC and heat, power mirrors, cruise control and tilt steering. It also has rear defrost. Before I forget, I also had both front seats redone when I got it. They have the original cloth convering on them but so many of the Rover seats lost their springs and padding and just collapse. I had these done over and they are very comfortable, firm yet soft and sit you up the way you are suposed to be sitting in a Rover. None of that normal destoryed front seat stuff on this baby! I also had a brand new headliner put in as we all knew every single Rover has a falling headliner. This one was just installed and is in perfect shape. All map pockets, grab handles and other roof accessories are present and in good shape. The interior is in GREAT condition. As you can see, it is a beautiful design with comfortable seats and a great appearance. And now for the mechanics. Ths Rover has enough power and 4x4 ability to get you out of any situation that arises! The truck shows about 101,000 miles on the odometer but I have no idea how exact that is. It came from Indiana and they do not record miles after a car is more than 10 years old. Somewhere in the past, a previous owner marked the little box on the title that says "not actual miles" so that is noted on the title. The title does say 132,000 miles but it also says not actual. Since we have redone most of the engine, I don't feel that the miles are all that important. The SUV has a 4.0 liter Rover gas engine. It is connected to a 4 speed Rover automatic transmission with overdrive. Both operate flawlessly. As you may or may not know, all Discoverys are full-time 4x4 and have two selections, 4 high and 4 low. They also have a towing option. The engine has had it's headgaskets replaced and we had that done oursleves. Yes, I do have the receipts. This is one of the only problems that Land Rover ever had is that they blow the original headgaskets. This is not a problem with the engine, actually, but rather a defect in the way the original factory headgaskets were made. When we get one in, the first thing we do is check them for need of headgaskets. This one had not been changed so we did it. It now has the good high pressure composit headgaskets on it with new British headbolts so this should not be an issue with the truck ever again. We always have the aluminum heads magna-fluxed to check for cracks while they are off and also have them replaned. Of course, all of the other gaskets that go along with the headgaskets have also been replaced and that included the intake, waterpump, valve covers, front and rear plentum seals and exhaust manifold gaskets. The engine runs cool, has great oil pressure and no internal noise. The Rover has a huge aluminum radiator that is managed by electirc fans. All of the belts are new as is the waterpump. The Rover has disc brakes on all four wheels and they are in good shape. I have to add the this Rover drives extremely nice. It is quick and responsive. The engine runs like new and there are no leaks or problems of any kind. We also always fush and refill the power steering systems with 100% of Lucus power steering treatment to keep the systems working as they should. I love all Rovers but the Zebra Edition always get tons of attention and I LOVE driving them. The Rover is beautiful and ready for you to enjoy! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Questions and answers: Let me cover a few questions that I am sure I will get 100 times while this auction is running. Also, please check the eBay question and answer section below the photos to see if your question has already been covered. * Will you trade for my ................. (fill in the blank)? You are welcome to e-mail what you have but here are a few things to keep in mind. I am not going to trade you even unless you are offering something that is beyond belief. We are likely well away from where you are. If you have something to offer, I would prefer to see it in person and that makes it difficult. I will need detailed photos to give it thought. I am not interested in snowmobiles, jetskis, john boats, bass boats, ex-wives (or current ones!), or ANY type of project vehicle, other than Rovers. I will consider items such as sports cars. large boats or items that are sellable quickly. I do not have time or the ability to deal with anything that I will have to put much effort into. * Does this Rover have airbags and seatbelts? Yes to seatbelts and yes to airbags. It has has all factory installed safety items and they are in good shape. * Will this Rover pass emissions in my state? I have no idea. We are in Kentucky and we have no emissions testing here. I have no way to test it for any state and I have no idea what your state requires. It is 100% up to you to check on these items for yourself. If you buy the car, you buy the car. It will be your responsibilty to make it meet whatever requirements your state has. There may be no changes that need to be made but keep in mind that you will not be allowed to back out of the sale should you not put any effort into finding out BEFORE you bid. Please refer to the last paragraph that covers non-payment. I don't mean to sound like a jerk here but the last time I failed to mention this I had an idiot in California complaining that their 1978 VW Beetle convertible did not have a catalytic converter on it! They were not made with converters in 1978 and there is NOTHING I can do about it. * Will you ship internationally? Yes, I will but it is your responsibility to find out the costs. I am happy to help make the arrangements and have shipped numerous Rovers internationally. If you use the Buy It Now, or pay extra for me to do it, I will get it to a shipping port. Please understand that a price a shipper gives you is from a port city. We are not on the ocean and the car will have to be transported to the port. That will be extra. I WILL NOT accept money orders, cashier's checks or any other check for international shipping. Payment will be made by a bank wire transfer and by no other means, except in some cases with Canada. I WILL NOT accept anything but the deposit through Paypal as their fees are too high to process large amounts through. * Will this be a good car for my teenaged son/daughter? They really like it and want me to buy it for them. This simplest answer to this is that it depends on your teenager. Rovers are exception vehicles but they, like any car, have their limitations. If your child plans to take it off-road and damage it, then you may want to look for a beat-up vehicle that you won't have to worry about them damaging. This Rover can handle any off-road situation but that requires an experienced driver. As with ANY SUV, they are taller and easier to turn over. If junior is wreckless and drives like a fool, find him or her something that sits low to the ground. And keep in mind, this is a British military vehicle. It will require normal up-keep and that means more than what a Honda or Toyota will require. It is in good shape but the driver will have to be able to take care of it.. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A little about us. We are a small group of Rover lovers in Western Kentucky that specializes in only Rovers. We sell only nice Rovers that have been checked out and never list one on eBay that we know has a problem. As with all things mechanical, things break down and we will always do anything within reason to assist after the sale. This does not imply that we provide a lifetime warranty! All cars are sold as is unless I specifically say there is a factory warranty on them. Should you have a problem any time in the future, even 10 years from now, we will do all we can to help. We will get you parts at our cost, recommend trustworthy mechanics, locate used parts, ect. for as long as you own the Rover. Just let us know what you need. You are strongly encouraged to come and see the SUV in person. We will be glad to have you come in and take the Rover out to lunch or dinner. As long as you are a serious buyer, we'll pay for a nice meal and you can go and enjoy the truck. ( This offer does not apply to teenaged buyers without a parent present. We reserve the right to verify anyone's ID and their ability to buy prior to letting them run off with a free car. Hope you can understand. I also have to mention, based on a recent incident, that the dinner offer does not apply to you and 20 relatives! I now have to limit it to you and a spouse or mate. Always has to be some idiot to ruin a good thing. ) Come play with it. Make sure the Rover is as we say. Make sure you fit the Rover and the Rover fits you. Take it to a mechanic and have it looked at. Do anything within reason to make sure it is what you expect! Keep in mind, this is not a new Rover. It is priced accordingly. If you are looking for a new Rover, then please go see the Rover dealer. Used Rovers are just that. Used Rovers. I always try to mention anything I see about one or correct it. However, I am human and can miss something. As for the free delivery mentioned above. The details are simple. If you use the Buy It Now, I will deliver the Rover anywhere in the mainland US for free. I may be able to include lower Canada but you must check with me on that first. There are rules that apply to importing into Canada and all taxes and tariffs will be the buyer's responsibility. If I am delivering, I solely reserve the right to decide on how the vehicle gets to your location. I may have it shipped by professional car delivery service, I may delivery on my personal trailer or I may drive the car to you and fly back home. Driving it to you will not happen with a classic car. I will trailer it or ship it. If I drive one this will, of course, add a few miles but that can't be helped. Since I am paying for it, I have to consider distance, expense, time I have on hand, ect. Payment must be made IN FULL before the vehicle will leave our location. No exceptions will be made, not even to dealers! Bidding and payment terms are pretty simple as well. DO NOT bid of you have no money! These auctions are expensive and I will not allow zero or low feedback bidders to bid. If you do, I will cancel the bid and block you from bidding again. Negitive feedback is worse as zero feedback, as far as I'm concerned. If you are not new to eBay but have no feedback and feel you should be allowed to bid, contact me and we'll work something out. My cell is 270-577-1821. Don't wait until the last minute to do this as it will be too late. As for payment, I expect a $300.00 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours. The remaining amount should be paid within no more than 7 days. I accept any reasonable form of payment but checks must clear before the car will leave here. If you are picking it up, don't expect to show-up on Saturday or Sunday and write a check and leave with the car. Best bet for a weekend pick-up is cash or mail the check in advance so it will clear before you arrive. We will be happy to store the Rover indoors after payment for as long as needed, within reason, until you can come and get it. If the Buy It Now is not used, I may be willing to deliver the car for a fee but we will need to discuss that in advance. I always welcome deliveries to Florida as I can always use more vacation time! Where we are. Henderson, KY is in Western KY which is close enough to several major cities that you can fly into them. We are about 150 miles from Nashville, TN; 120 miles from Louisville, KY; 180 miles from both Indianapolis, IN and St. Louis, MO. The closest airport is a regional in Evansville, IN. We can make arrangements to pick you up free in Evansville and Louisville, KY. For any of the other airports, we can get you but we'll have to have some help on travel expenses from the buyer. You are more than welcome to call me at any time to ask any question. My cell is 270-577-1821. I can also assist in finding any decent sports or luxury car that you may desire and can get them at less than what you will find them for elsewhere. We thank you for looking and wish you the best of luck in the bidding! Please see our other auctions for more Rovers. as time permits. I absolutely HATE to have to add this paragraph to my auctions but due to recent events, I feel I have no choice. I have lost more than $1000.00 in eBay fees just this momth due to non-paying bidders and I'm sick of it! This is not a game. I am an auto dealer and a lot of people rely on these auctions to make their living, to pay their bills and to feed their families. Not only my auctions, but lots of auctions on eBay. When I list a car, it automatically costs me $147.90. When it sells, I send it to get ready for the buyer to pick-up, By the time it's ready to go, I will have spent $300.00 on it. If the buyer does not pay, I have to spend another $147.90 to relist it. This is in addition to the money I have already spent on it. So when one sells and the buyer does not pay, I will have about $450.00 tied up in it. I am no longer going to tolerate non-payment. Understand plainly that if you win and do not pay, I will expect and demand that you will pay the full amount of the expenses that I incur in fees. Not the auto prep fees but the eBay fees. If you do not pay immediately, I WILL file suit on the matter for the full amount of the vehicle, all eBay fees, court cost and attorney's fees. I have not lost a single case in dealing with these issues. I also report to the credit bureau. Cases will be filed in Henderson County, Kentucky which will require that you travel to KY for court. Should you fail to appear, KY law (KRS 514.040) says that I will win by default. I will utilize all options to collect the amounts owed including liens on property and payroll attachments. No excuse will be tolerated. If you make a mistake, do what's right and correct it. If your mistake costs someone money, it is your moral and legal responsibility to pay to correct it. If you don't, then it is my responsibility to protect my business, my employees and my family and collect what is owed me. I fully intend to do so. I don't want to be a jerk and this will not be an issue if everyone plays be the rules and does what they are supposed to! A note to parents: You are responsible for your children's actions. Should you fail to supervise your child and he or she wins an auction, expect that you and that child will be dealt with in the above manner as well, if you don't take care of the expenses that the child causes. Do what's right and avoid all this!!
