Plymouth : Valiant 200 Wagon Survivor 6 Passenger 1966 Valiant Station Wagon 273 4 Speed SURVIVOR 1 OF 13

Here is a very Rare and Super Cool 1966 Plymouth Valiant 200 Wagon with the 273 V8 engine and the 4 Speed Manual Transmission... 1 OF 13 Produced according to Galen Govier's Book! Before I go into detail, this is 1 of 13 Valiant Wagons Produced for 1966 with the V8 engine and 4 speed Manual Transmission...the Production Numbers came from Galen Govier's book....quite rare by any standards or measure. This Wagon is equipped with the peppy Original 273 V8 engine and its Original 4 Speed Manual Transmission which is shifted by its Original Inland 4 Speed Shifter which is not only very cool but it works well! Not only is this a very Rare 273 4 Speed Wagon but its also equipped with the Original factory installed Air Conditioning. Now it just gets better and better with this Wagon because its for the most part a very Original Wagon wearing what Im told is its Original Factory applied White Paint and its complete Numbers Matching drivetrain. Did I mention that this Wagon still has all Original Documentation including its Original Window Sticker, Original Owners Manual, Original CertaCard or for your GM guys, the Protect-O-Plate.....also included are many original California Registrations including its first from the winter of 1965 along with paperwork from the Originals Owners Purchase of this 1966 Valiant 200 6 Passenger Station Wagon from Otto's Plymouth in Tracy California. This is an extremely original and very well documented Factory V8, Original Factory 4 Speed, Original Paint Survivor Valiant Station Wagon with its Window Sticker and Factory Air Conditioning. Where would you ever find anything like this in the old car collector hobby? Well my Station Wagon and Mopar faithful friends, this awesome little Survivor is being auctioned right here and this one off original 4 Speed Survivor Wagon will find a new home.....rest assured that whomever ends up winning this auction will be the only Kid on his Block to own one.....in fact its the only one around....1966 Valiant 200 Wagon with its Original Untouched Factory Installed 273 Commando V8 Engine and infamous Chrysler A833 4 Speed Manual Transmission, Factory Air, Full Factory Tinted Glass, Original Paint, Original Window Sticker/CertaCard, complete Owner History....amazing Factory inspection markings from the Assembly line which are evident throughout the entire front and rear suspension while the never undercoated Floors, Frames Rails and most of the underside still show the factory White Paint and Original Gray Primer..... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This is a One of a Kind car that even the early Nova Wagon guys, early Ford Falcon Wagon and Galaxie Wagons guys or even you Rambler Wagon guys would truly appreciate. This is a One of a Kind car my Wagon friends. Lets face it, its not very often that True Factory Documented Original V8 Factory 4 Speed Wagons find their way to the collector car world let alone to Ebay. These cool and unusually equipped Survivor Wagons are usually traded amongst the faithful Wagon collecting community. This is your opportunity to get in on one of the best collector car trends in the very rapidly growing vintage Station Wagon collector community. These Amazingly Cool and Extremely useful Collector cars can still be purchased at a fair price when compared to their far more common 2 Door Hardtop or Convertible brothers. Not only are Factory V8 4 speed Wagons Super Rare but finding any Beautifully kept Original Wagon with Loads of Original Documentation is nearly an impossible task. These cars were run into the ground by their original owners who often loaded these cars up with their children, their neighbors children along with the family dog and after years of that abuse, these poor Wagons were usually hand me downs, given to their Teenage kid who tried in every way to set a New Land Speed Record, in the old Family Wagon! Yes there were many Family Wagons that were passed down to the Teenage Son or Daughter who would inevitably run the old Wagon into the ground and if they were lucky enough to get past the Teenagers, well the old Wagons would often end up being used as work vehicles. The Wagons were often purchased by a local small businessman or the Self-Employeed...maybe the local Handyman, Plumber, Carpenter or even the local Exterminator who would then give the Wagons some serious use as a work vehicle where they would endure a few years of real work, often started and rolled out of the driveway at high speed before the engines ever had any chance to actually warm up.....then it was off to the local coffee shop or Diner for a Hot Cup of Coffee before a Days work at carrying all types of tools from ladders to Paint, Tool Boxes and even some fertilizer from time to time. These old Wagons were worked hard for the most part and they often hit the junk yard within the first 10 years of their life. This is one of the reasons that I call Nice Original Survivor Wagons "RARE"....not only this car but all nice 40+ year old Wagons that have not been run into the ground...they are few and far between my friends~! This Wagon is one of the Few that is Not Only Super Rare because of its Super Low Production Numbers but also because of its Wonderful Original Condition. Like I said, most Wagons were run into the ground and worked very hard! Nice Originals are a rarity and you will see evidence of this by the many trashed out rusty old wagons which seem to show themselves on ebay and other venues from time to time.... Then of course there are the various decrepid corpses that we often see for sale on ebay that claim to be "Barn Finds" or some other term of the Month that people like to put on their old Ebay cars! No disrespect to anybody intended, I just couldnt help but notice that every other auction these days seems to be a "Barn Find"... Well what did they expect to find in the barns? Barn Finds.....please somebody make this term illegal quickly! This 1966 Plymouth Valiant 200 Wagon was ordered new by a family in Stockton California where the little Valiant would lead a charmed life where it was obviously well loved and does not appear to have seen any of the usual abuse of the typical Family Wagon. From what I understand, this Wagon was Special Ordered by a gentleman and his wife who were loyal Chrysler folk ..... Apparently the original owners wanted something that would scoot along nicely through Northern California and haul whatever they needed when neccessary...they were also fond of the Four Speed Manual Transmission along with the Cold Factory Air Condtioning that could be a real comfort on a hot Summer day in California. This Wagon was SPECIAL right fom the start from its Factory V8 Option to the Oh so Rare, 4 Speed Manual Transmission which make the car 1 of just 13 ever Produced and then add the Air Conditioning and we have what is likely the Only 1966 Valiant Wagon with the 273, 4 speed and Factory Air Conditioning. By the way, Chrysler did not recommend the Air Conditioning with V8's and Manual Transmissions in these early "A" Body cars which was obviously because of the space issue. The Engine Compartments in these cars with the 273 and Air Conditioning is quite cluttered to say the least but Chrylser got the job done and everything fits just right! The Wagon was special ordered and the Original Window Sticker shows to "EXPEDITE" the build of this car for its original owner and selling Dealer. The Valiant Wagon is also equipped with the Factory Air Conditioning, AM Radio, Seat Belts Retractable Both Front and Rear, Power Tailgate Window and White Side Wall Tires along with the California Cleaner Air Package and full factory Tinted Glass and if you look closely at the photos, you will see the Chrysler AirTemp Air Codntioning Decal is still in the Rear Side Glass...... all of this for the tidy sum of $3461.90 ... a lot of bucks for an "economy" car circa 1966! You would have purchased a nicely optioned 1966 GTO for less than the price of this Valiant Wagon or a 1966 Mustang GT Fastback with the HIPO 289 engine for less than the price of this Wagon! This 1966 Valiant 200 Wagon is an amazingly original car with the exception of the Frantz Oil Cleaning system that was installed on the motor when the car was new and of course the Cragar S/S Wheels as shown in the pictures. That Frantz Oil Cleaning System is a great addition and all cars should have had them installed when they were new. I have the Original Paperwork for that Frantz Oil Cleaner...awesome. I have the Original Painted White Steel Wheels with the Original Dog Dish Hubcaps with White Wall Radial Tires. The Original Painted White Steel Wheels still show the Factory Primer on the backside of the wheels. This car has its Original 273 V8 and its Original 4 Speed Manual Transmission. Everything appears to be super original as far as the drivetrain goes and the Motor and Transmission are in Excellent operating condition. The 273 engine starts easily and runs nice and smooth. The engine runs well and pulls the little Wagon along the road nicely with plenty of pep to get the car motivated! The 4 Speed Transmission shifts fine with no problems with the synchronizers, no popping out of gear and no grinding....just a good original Chrysler A833 4 speed Manual Transmission. The Original Inland 4 Speed Shifter works well and is in good working order with the Original Lock-Out Reverse working as it should. The Original Chrome Handle on the shifter is nice as is the Original 4 Speed Shift Knob....good originals and in excellent working condition. The Clutch works well with no chatter, slipping or problems.....works well and feels good with a nice pedal. The car is a real charmer mechanically and exceptionally original. The Air Conditioning is 100% Complete and the Compressor seems to be fine but the Air Conditioning will need a new belt. I have never looked into this and the car could just need the belt installed....everything is complete and clean. This could very well just need the belt installed and a good old Air Conditioning Servicing and it could be blowing cold. The Blower motor works fine and the Original Air Conditioning unit, is nice and clean... this is the long Factory Air Conditioning and not the Dealer installed air conditioning..... check the Original Window Sticker and you will see it clearly stated at an extra cost of $318.50 which was quite a chunk of change in 1966 considering the base price of the 1966 Valiant 200 Wagon with the Factory V8 was $2630. As you can imagine, the engine compartment has very little room for any other comfort options so there is no power steering or brakes but this car is so easy to drive that the lack of power steering is not an issue. The Original Drum Brakes work well and stop the car nice and fast with no problem. The car drives nice and straight and goes up the road nicely at Highway speeds. The car is a pleasure to drive with no unusual noises from the drivetrain and no strange noises from the car anywhere....just an excellent driving car! The Turn Signals, Headlights, Brake Lights, Running Lights and even the License Plate Light all work fine. The Original AM Radio works although it doesnt get the best of reception....typical 60's radio! The car is a great running and driving car that can be confidently driven anywhere. The Body and Paint on this 1966 Valiant 200 Station Wagon are very Good Original. You would be hard pressed to find a better original body on any car let alone a 60's vintage Wagon. The car spent most of its life in Northern California and was always garaged. The Body is exceptional with absolutely no rust nor has it ever had any rust or rust repair. The car is rock solid and still shows its Original Paint on the Undercarriage with no Undercoating. The Factory White Paint on the Floors and Frame Rails is still very clean and there is plenty of factory primer showing on the underside of this car. The Body is just amazing! I have added a Picture of the Rear Frame Rail which show the Factory White Paint and the Factory Primer. I have not even bothered to clean the undercarriage of the car and if you were to spend a day with the car on a lift and jusr so a little cleaning, you would have an absolutely gorgeous Original undercarriage! You will not see another Original Valiant Wagon with a Body like this anywhere and especially not one with a Factory V8 and a Factory 4 speed!!! This car is untouched underneath and still shows many Factory Assembly Line Ink Stampings and Grease Pencil markings from the Assembly Line workers who put this 1966 Valiant togther at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant in November of 1965!!!! The car is said to be wearing its Original Factory applied Paint and it certainly appears to be Original. There are some nicks and minor scratches here and there from a car that was driven over the last 45 years but it is still very nice and looks great! This car is said to be wearing its Original Paint and it certainly appears that way to me and Im pretty picky...all looks original and nice and clean! The car has excellent Original Trim with the exception of a couple of bumps on the front headlight bezels....other than that, excellent Chrome and Aluminum Trim throughout the car...just an amazing car! The Original Aluminum Trim that runs down the Sides of the car and the Trim on the Tailgate is just awesome. The Body is dead straight and there are no dents or damage to speak of....maybe a minor door ding but nothing worth mentioning and honestly, Im not even sure that there is a single door ding although I could be wrong....its just a really good original car. The cool ribbed Roof is awesome, long and very cool! The Original Tailgate is excellent and works perfectly with no problems. The Electric Rear Tailgate Window works as it should and the Tailgate Opens and Closes effortlessly. The Door All Open and Close like new ....they open so nice and they close with just a click. The Original Weather Stripping is still in good shape on this car as is the Original Trim around the Front Windshield and the Side Glass which is literally unheard of on these cars. Im talking about the press in Plastic Chrome Plated Window Trim that sits inside the Windshield Gaskets and Side Windows on these cars and its nearly impossible to find nice Originals and the Chrome Windshield and Side Glass Chrome Trim is amazing for 44 year old Original Trim....another indication that this one of a kind car has never been left outside or abused in any way. The Original Bumpers have very nice Original Chrome and the Grill looks good although there are those minor dings in the headlight bezels. The Windows all Roll Up and Down as they should with no problems and the Original Window Channel Fizzies are quite nice for Originals. I have all of the Original Documentation from the Original Window Sticker and the very first California Registration issued in late November of 1965 along with all of the California Registrations and Original Certacard, Original Owners Manual and all kinds of other original Documentation for this car. The little Valiant Wagon started life at the Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant and was shipped to Otto's Plymouth in Tracy California before it was picked up by the Original Owners in Stockton California where the Wagon would spend most of its life.... Stockton is a short distance from the Original Selling Dealer in Tracy California. This Beautiful little Wagon would spend the nearly 30 years with its Original Owners who were a Husband and Wife Team. This car has always been well loved and cared for which you can see by the original condition throughout this Wagon. This car has never seen any accident or collision damage and its as straight as they get. The body is second to none and you will agree when you see this serious Time Capsule. As I mentioned earlier, this car came with Original Painted Steel Wheels and Dog Dish Hubcaps and they are still with the car but I took the liberty of adding a set of NOS Vintage Cragar S/S Wheels in 14x6" which were just perfect for the car and gave it a slighly aggresive look that just fits the car. I just couldnt help myself....some cars just look cool with old school Cragar's and this was one of them although you'll see by the pictures with the Original Steel Wheels that the car looks very cool not matter what wheels and tires are on it! The Interior in the Valiant is clean and looks nice throughout from the Seat Covers to the Door Panels and the Dash with beautiful Original Dash Pad, Headliner, Original Carpets and even the Rear Cargo area have held up very well over the last 44 years. This Interior is clean and looks great overall with its Original Dated Rubber Floor Mat in the Rear Cargo area as well as having the Spare Tire Mounted on the Original Steel wheel in the Spare Tire well and even the Original Jack and Original Insulation under the Rear Spare Tire Well is all in very Good Original condition. This is one cool Wagon. I guess that thing that stands out most on the Inside of this Wagon is the Factory 4 Speed Shifter sitting right up front in the Middle of the Floor!!!! Thats the coolest item on this Valiant Wagon although this car would have been super Rare by anyone's standards as there were only a total of 866 Valiant 200 Wagons Built in 1966 with the 273 engine and of those only 13 were built with the Factory 4 Speed Transmission! Keep in mind that this was the HIGH END Valiant Wagon for 1966 as the 1966 Valiant 100 Wagon was the base Model ......these Valiant 200 Wagons are actually fairly rare in any trim level but are especially rare with the upscale Valiant 200 Trim Package which is something thats actually shown in the Vin Number as well as the Fender Tag and the Original Window Sticker...etc etc etc... This 1966 Plymouth Valiant 200 Wagon is a great Original car overall and runs and drives great. The car is a a very honest Original car that appears to be wearing its Original Paint and overall, the car looks great! The engine compartment is for the most part untouched outside of common maintainance items which have been replaced over the years such as Belts, Hoses, etc etc. The engine compartment has never been detailed, repainted or touched for that matter. The Original Fender Tag is in place and has never been removed from the car and the Original Shipping Order Number is on the Fender Tag, Window Sticker and is found on the Radiator Support as well. Like I said, this is a very honest original 273 Factory 4 Speed Wagon with Factory Air Conditioning and is 1 of just 13 cars ever Produced with this drivetrain option. The 273 engine starts easily and runs very well. Like many Mopar small blocks it will blow a little smoke when its first fired up and cold but once she warms up it clears right out and runs great. The Transmission works beautifully and shifts as it should with a good clutch. The Body is as good as it gets and the overall look of the car is what you would expect to see in a 5 year old used car back in 1971....its just an excellent original car. The undercarriage still shows original Assembly Line Yellow Grease Pencil markings on the Quarter Panel Drop Off Plugs which look as though they were done yesterday but I assure you that these were done back in the Winter of 1965 at the Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant and there are many other Markings on the Leaf Springs and the Rear Housing....just an amzing Time Capsule underneath and throughout! This car can be driven anywhere and has endless uses which many people are just starting to catch onto after all of these years of being car hobbiest. These Wagons can be used for Family Outings, Camping, Road Trips, The Power Tour, Cruise Events, Local Shows and just good old cars to run errands in. These Wagons are not only a Blast that the whole family can enjoy but they are also a very safe investment in my opinion. Why not buy a Classic car that your whole family can enjoy? You should see the look on the faces of most of the old car guys who look at this car and then it dawns on them that this is a factory Built 4 Speed Wagon! Most are shocked and others just dont believe that such a car could have been produced! Its a whole lotta fun seeing the reaction of these guys. As far as my overall impressions of the car and I will be very picky here. The car runs very good and the engine compartment is all Original and would benefit from a nice detailing but I left it alone as it was so original that I didnt want to touch it. I dont think a nice detailing of this engine compartment would hurt the Wagon at all. The Interior although very clean and servicable is showing a little dirt on the front carpets and they could stand a little cleaning although they are fine and do not need replacing. The Original Gold/Tan Vinyl Material on the Seats is Original but the cloth inserts were replaced by the Original owner many years ago and look good and most people wouldnt know the difference. As I mentioned earlier, there are some little nicks, chips and minor scratches but absolutely nothing that takes away from the beauty of this very Original Unrestored 1966 Valiant 200 273 V8, 4 Speed Wagon! I think who ever ends up with this Wagon will truly enjoy this car and its originality as well as the shear driving pleasure that this car brings. I cant help but find myself with a big smile on my face when Im out cruising this car. Its just a very cool car!!! Keep in mind that this is a great Original car with no restoration work done and it is better than what most guys refer to as "Survivors".... I hesitate to use the word survivor on any car as they have all had something done to them over the years. This is an Excellent Unrestored Original V8 4 Speed Station Wagon with Wonderful Original Documentation and will surely make somebody very Happy! Just try to find something like this today.
